As you might remember, I visited an annually held snow sculpture championship in Umeå last year. And I did it again yesterday! This year’s theme was “Age, wisdom and respect”. The contestants were given a cube of snow and from Friday to Saturday to work with it and at the end people got to vote their favorite. So here are pictures of some pretty amazing artwork displayed at the city center of Umeå. Here’s my post from last year if you want to check it out. This year the weather was much better so it was nicer to walk around.
Some of the sculptures I didn’t really understand, but it was definitely interesting to see what people could come up with and I can imagine that doing detailed sculptures out of snow is not an easy task.
Remember, my blogger colleagues Ivanna and Marina are doing a campus tour in the north of Sweden next week. They’ll be visiting Umeå on Wednesday, so make sure to follow their adventures on Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram! ❄️?
