Living it up in Stockholm School of Economics!

Banquets are quite typical at SSE. Usually we have one every other week or so. People dress up super nicely for them. Everything is organized by students and costs anywhere between 150 SEK to 400 SEK depending on the fanciness of the party. Sometimes, companies also sponsor such events. Below is a photo essay of the exchange banquet that happened a couple of weeks back to welcome students who have come to SSE on exchange from other universities. Like a friend explained to me, the banquets are almost like a theme party where students try to dress up all fancy and feel special or something.

A typical set up could hold like 100-150 people

Soon everyone moved to the dinner place. Lights were dim and it looked and felt really cozy. There was also some kind of entertainment on the stage every now and then

The seating is fixed before the dinner and they try to place Swedes and older students around newer students so that they can teach them the songs and tell them about the traditions

But mostly the banquet is a great way to meet new people and share interesting ideas. Though the school is quite small, I always have run into new people at such banquets.
oh and that's me. I was the photographer for the night. I dunno, its easier to take pictures when I am not dressed up all fancy I guess
