I recently visited my cousins in Göteborg and it was such a beautiful weekend! Even the weather was good. 🙂

During my stay there, my cousins planned a trip outside of the city to a castle called Tjolöholms slott. It is a beautiful, small castle dating back from 1904. Its location is superb – right next to the water.

The castle had organised a Christmas market on its premises, so I thought I could give you a sneak peek of the day at Tjolöholm.

We tried a lot of things at the Christmas market - from reindeer meat and pickled herring to marmalade and cookies!

The Tjolöholm castle in the present form is not as old, but the estate has been there for a very long time – it dates back to the 13th century and there actually was a manor before the one we can see now. The previous manor was allegedly in a bad condition, so they built a new one instead. The side of the castle that faces the sea features a beautiful garden as well. Check out the photos below!
