    Culture and change: critical studies in the humanities is a two-year master’s programme aimed at students interested in better understanding various cultural phenomena, both past and present. The programme will encourage you to think expansively and creatively about how culture is produced and reproduced, and why it is still contested terrain. We explore and ask questions about issues of power, representation, memory, silence, and place. The programme will help you to bridge theory and practice, and to develop research interests in collaboration with external stakeholders.     The bachelor's programme in English studies prepares you for work in numerous fields related to cultural production, the language arts, the manipulation of texts and the generation of creative content. The programme provides non-native as well as native English-language speakers with the skills needed to compete effectively in a global world.The programme equips you with academic writing skills, and in addition offers elective courses in creative writing. Your own oral production is also emphasised through seminar discussions and oral presentations.

    The English Studies programme combines the academic study of literature and linguistics, ultimately leading to specialisation in one of these disciplines. Through research and critical thinking about texts from many eras and genres, you will learn to develop, articulate and defend your ideas clearly and with confidence.Although all courses are conducted in English and require a level of proficiency comparable to that expected at a university in an English-speaking country, we consider the diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds of our students to be an enriching aspect of the programme.
