This programme offers a holistic view on aircraft design. An aircraft is a complex, integrated, closely connected system of various technologies and disciplines such as aerodynamics, structure, propulsion, actuation and other on-board systems. Linköping is one of few places in the world where aircraft are designed and manufactured. Our students benefit from our location through close research collaboration between the University, the aerospace industry, and our industry-affiliated teachers. Choose among three profiles: Aircraft Systems Design, Aerodynamics, and Aircraft Structures. After graduation you will be qualified to work independently and take on a leading role in the development of tomorrow’s aircraft.
This programme combines fundamental concepts and knowledge in engineering, biology, and medicine to develop innovative technologies, materials, processes, and systems, with the aim of improving healthcare. You will expand your skills and knowledge in engineering, mathematics, physics, multidimensional signal generation and analysis, and you will combine medical informatics with biomedical modelling applied to human anatomy. This programme prepares students for working with the management of ecosystems, ecological communities and populations, based on a thorough knowledge of ecological concepts and theories. The programme has a critical scientific approach to ecology and to its applications in society. Students acquire training in experimental design, data interpretation, ecological fieldwork and theoretical modeling, both in a classroom setting and during hands-on field work. There is a strong focus on the practical application of ecological knowledge in society. Graduates will be qualified to work with environmental issues and conservation biology, for instance with sustainable use of natural resources in forestry, agriculture or limnology.
This programme provides a competitive education in digital, analogue and radio-frequency (RF) integrated circuits (IC) and System-on-Chip (SoC) design, combined with in-depth knowledge in signal processing, application specific processors, embedded systems design, modern communications systems, and radio transceiver design. It has two specialisations: System-on-Chip, and Analogue/Digital and RF IC design. This programme deals with animal behaviour and biology from an applied perspective, including problems associated with keeping animals in captivity. Students gain a good working knowledge of the programme’s central issues, such as the biology of stress and its role in animal welfare, the effects of domestication on animal behaviour, the physiology of behaviour, and conservation biology. The programme is taught in collaboration with Kolmården Wildlife Park, one of the largest and most renowned zoos in Sweden. Graduates may work as animal welfare inspectors, wildlife conservationists or advisors for zoos and private companies.
Computer science is one of the most dynamic and expansive fields of science. In addition to having a deep understanding of the theoretical and technical foundations, professionals in this field must be able to apply the technology to challenging problems, and integrate it with other technologies. The programme offers five specialisations, among which are Visualisation and Computer Graphics, Artificial Intelligence and Data Mining, and Programming and Software Methods. This programme teaches chemistry from a molecular perspective. A key feature of the programme is its strong experimental focus. You will spend a lot of time in our labs getting hands-on experience of chemistry and applying theories covered in the lectures. The job market for chemists is excellent. After graduation, you will have the skill set to work in the pharmaceutical or the materials science industries, as well as for environmental agencies and governments.
This programme covers the entire product development cycle, from idea to the final product. The first semester consists of mandatory courses in mechanical engineering, such as fluid power systems, computational mechanics, and deformation and fracture of engineering materials. They are combined with courses in product development and project management. In the second semester, you may choose among five specialisations. After graduation, you will have great opportunities for employment in almost any sector of the engineering industry. You may take part in multidisciplinary design processes, or be involved with the generation, distribution, and use of energy; the design and development of machines, vehicles and transportation systems; or the processing of materials. You will also be prepared for a research career.

Troves of detailed social data related to choices, affiliations, preferences and interests are now digitally archived by internet service providers, media companies, other private-sector firms, and governments. New computational approaches based on machine learning, agent-based modelling, natural language processing, and network science have made it possible to analyse these data in ways previously unimaginable.This is a chance to develop skills in computational techniques alongside a strong grounding in the principles and practice of contemporary social research. We are devoted to research and teaching, with globally minded areas and collaborative partners worldwide.
