About the programmeThe programme covers all main subfields of International Business subject area. Courses in International Management, International Marketing, International Accounting and International Finance are complemented with courses in International Trade and Development and Business Research Methods. The programme ends up with a thesis project. This degree project aims at developing your ability to identify, critically reflect over, analyze and solve problems related to international business activities. You will also learn to communicate your established solutions to various audiences – your peers, commissioning companies and organizations, as well as academia. Every part of the programme emphasizes international business ethics, socially responsible behaviour of business actors as well as sustainability as a dominating logic of value creation processes. The programme establishes clear connections among current business practices, business research and your learning.Work Integrated Learning - WILWhile studying you will meet the WIL profile of University West in a number of ways. Incorporation of WIL in the programme gives you an opportunity to identify and solve real life problems faced by international companies in the global business environment. You may bump into different forms of WIL such as study visits to international companies, company-based projects, team-building, leadership development and cultural awareness raising exercises outside the university. Emphasis is hence placed on bridging theories and current praxis of international business operations. The programme establishes clear connections among current business practices, business research and your learning.International admissionInternational Business, Master Programme in Business Administration, has international admission which means that students from all over the world can apply to the programme. Originating from different countries participants of the programme have diverse cultural backgrounds which gives you enriching linguistic and cultural experience. The language of instruction within the programme is English.Further educationHaving completed the programme you fulfil general entry requirements for admission to a third cycle programme (doctoral studies) in a relevant field of study in Sweden.Working LifeAfter graduation from the programme you will be equipped with the skills needed to operate across borders, cultures, industries and functions. The range of career options available is broad. About the programmeThe programme develops students’ knowledge around key issues in Informatics such as:Driving forces and consequences of the digitalization of societyDesign for IT-supported learning and competence developmentEthical considerations linked to information technologiesDesignApplied use of information systems in different settings to support organizations in their development and performance.Additionally, advanced project management skills and skills to evaluate IT-supported processes for learning and competence development in professional organizations are also developed. Such knowledge and skills are increasingly necessary in professional life.The programme is also designed so that students increasingly gain reflective practice in both oral and written assignments. Such individual progress is important for the future directions of an individual's professional work in organizations as well as in academia.Work Integrated Learning (WIL)The profile of Work integrated learning (WIL) at University West is represented on individual courses when possible. WIL activities are related to the integration of knowledge and experiences from academia and outside organizations. This type of combination aims to enhance the relevance of the programme and combine theory and practice into a contemporary understanding of current issues when IT systems and organizations becomes the focal point of investigations in society at large.International admissionIT and Management, Master’s Programme in Informatics (one year) has international admission, which means that students from all over the world can apply for the programme.
