The south of Sweden isn’t exactly known for heavy snowfall… but surprise! This winter have been quite snowy — southern Sweden snowy, at least 😅. That means we’ve had to adapt a bit more to winter life, and here I’ll share the basics you really need to survive snowy days comfortably.
1. Get proper boots! 👢
The worst thing you can do is go outside wearing sneakers and end up with completely wet feet. Trust me, it ruins your whole day.
A good pair of waterproof boots is essential for snowy days. They also give you better grip when the ground is slippery, which is super important. Another option is buying shoe spikes, but honestly, in the south of Sweden I don’t think they’re really worth it. So my advice? Invest in solid winter boots, your feet will thank you.

2. Protect your head, neck, and hands 🧤🧢
When it’s snowing, the cold hits differently. That’s why I always recommend:
- a beanie to keep your head warm
- a scarf (big enough to cover your face when needed)
- and, very important… gloves
Have you ever tried to use your phone when your hands are freezing? Yeah… it’s painful 😭. Without gloves, your hands can also get extremely dry and start hurting because of the cold. It’s honestly terrible, don’t learn this the hard way.

3. Accessories + a massive jacket 🧥❄️
What protects you best is a big, waterproof winter jacket, preferably a long one that feels almost like wearing a blanket. With a good jacket, you forget about the cold and stay dry even when it’s snowing heavily.
If it’s not very windy, an umbrella can also help. In my case, it’s especially useful to avoid getting my glasses completely covered in snow and suddenly not being able to see anything 😅.

Snowy days can actually be really beautiful ✨ as long as you’re dressed properly.
So tell me… are you ready for your next snowy walk in Sweden? ❄️
