Winter in Sweden can be really dark, with daylight usually disappearing by 4 or 5 p.m. While this can sometimes bring a bit of a gloomy feeling, it also creates a cozy atmosphere perfect for spending time with friends through indoor activities. As an introvert, I enjoy these the most, so I want to share three ideas for making the most of those long, dark days!
Sip and Paint
This idea came to me and my friends totally by accident—our painting class got canceled, and we had to improvise. But honestly? It turned out even better than the original plan!
We grabbed a bottle of wine, some pizzas, and a few painting supplies, but we weren’t quite sure what to paint at first. That’s when my friend spotted some adorable blank mugs, and just like that, we had our project! Sitting inside on a freezing day, sipping wine, chatting about everything, and painting our own little masterpieces made for the perfect winter evening.
There’s something so fun and relaxing about letting your creativity flow while catching up with friends. Plus, you get a cute, personalized mug to remember the night! If you’re looking for a simple but super cozy way to spend time indoors this winter, I highly recommend a sip-and-paint night. Trust me, you won’t regret it!
Movie Day
I love movies, and I’ve already had plenty of movie nights with friends—just some popcorn, snacks, and a great film, and you’re all set. But lately, I’ve been thinking… why not take it up a notch? Instead of just a movie night, why not have a full-on movie day?
The idea is simple: pick a movie saga you’ve never seen (or one you love and want to rewatch) and try to make it through as many films as possible. Think of it as a cozy, all-day pajama party with friends! There are so many great sagas to choose from—The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Harry Potter, and more. Just set up a comfy space, grab some blankets, and let the binge-watching begin!
It’s the perfect way to relax, enjoy great stories, and spend quality time with friends while escaping the winter cold outside.🍿🎬
Dinner Together
This one is super simple—just gather some friends and decide what to cook together! You could go for a classic taco night, or if you have Peruvian friends, why not try a salchipapa night? (It’s just fries with hot dog, but trust me, it’s so good!) Feeling adventurous? Try making dishes from different cuisines or even host a potluck if everyone is from different countries.
Cooking together isn’t just about the food—it’s about the laughter, the random conversations, and the little moments that make it special. Every time I meet up with friends, we end up brainstorming new trip ideas, and I love that! Plus, if you’re feeling lonely, having a cozy dinner with good company can be the perfect pick-me-up. So grab some ingredients, turn on some music, and make a night of it! 🍽✨
