The hardest part is over—you’ve ranked your master’s programs on University Admissions and have most of your application ready to go. 🎉 But now comes the waiting, and I know exactly how nerve-wracking that can be. You’re probably feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety right now, and trust me, I get it! When I applied, I couldn’t stop thinking about it—I was constantly nervous and overanalyzing everything. So, what can you do until March 27th, when the results are finally published? Let me share some ideas to keep you focused, motivated, and prepared during this waiting period. ✨
📝 1. Finalize Your Application: Supporting documentation deadline
First things first—don’t miss the deadline to upload all your supporting documents! The cutoff date is February 3rd, so make this your top priority. When I applied, this was the first thing I completed because I wanted to feel at ease, knowing I hadn’t overlooked anything. Trust me, being organized and finishing early will save you so much stress later on. Stay focused, double-check everything, and mark that date on your calendar so it doesn’t slip your mind. You’ve got this! ✅
✨ 2. Stay Inspired: Celebrate the Small Wins
Applying for a master’s program is a huge milestone—take a moment to celebrate the courage and effort it took to get here! 🎉 Reward yourself for all the hard work you’ve put in. Maybe treat yourself to that restaurant you’ve been wanting to try, splurge on something you’ve had your eye on, or enjoy a self-care day with a massage or a good book. When I applied, I made sure to indulge in my favorite foods and take some time to unwind. Celebrating your progress, no matter how small can help you stay motivated and positive throughout the process.
⏳ 3. Trust the Process: Let Go of Overthinking
It’s so easy to fall into the trap of second-guessing your application. Did I include everything? Was it good enough? Instead of overthinking, remind yourself that you’ve done your best. 🌟 This is the perfect time to pause, breathe, and trust the admissions team to do their job.
So, how can you stop the overthinking spiral? Dive into a hobby! Whether it’s dancing (my go-to!), painting, yoga, or baking, doing something you enjoy is a great way to relax and refocus your energy. When I felt overwhelmed, I started learning new dance choreographies—it really helped me stay in the moment and keep my nerves in check. Find what works for you, and let it bring you some peace. 💃🧘♀️🍪
📖 4. Keep Growing: Invest in Yourself
While you wait for the results, why not use this time to invest in yourself? It’s the perfect opportunity to focus on personal growth and try something new. 🌟 Take an online course or dive into a book that inspires you. 📚 This time can be as productive or relaxing as you want—just make sure it’s something that helps you grow.
In my case, I decided to start learning Swedish using Duolingo. It was such a fun way to prepare for my new adventure! Saying “Hej!” on day one felt like such a small yet rewarding accomplishment. Plus, brushing up on the culture and language of Sweden gave me a sense of connection even before I arrived.
Waiting for the results of your application can feel like a rollercoaster of emotions, but it’s also a time filled with opportunities to prepare and grow. 🎢 Whether you’re finalizing your documents, learning a new language like I did, or simply taking a moment to celebrate your courage, every step you take now is building the foundation for your future. Remember, this is your journey, and you’ve already taken a huge leap toward your dreams. 🌟 Trust the process, stay motivated, and know that you’re not alone—I’m here to share my experience and cheer you on. 💪 Whatever happens, this is just the beginning of an incredible adventure! 🚀
