One of the best activities in Umeå (or pretty much anywhere in Sweden) is going out to the nature! I went on another walk in the forest last weekend and this time brought my camera with me. We drove to a nature reserve called Strömbäck-Kont, you can also get there by bike but the ride is about 20km, which at least for me is a bit too much. There’s actually little information about the nature reserves in Umeå in English online, so I wanted to write some information as well as give you a visual tour to one of the opportunities we have.

There are also places for bonfires and tents in the area, so it’s possible to spend a whole weekend there, or just bring some food and do a barbecue with your friends!

There are maps around the place where you can see your current location and choose between different routes around the place.

If you want to pick mushrooms, be sure to check if they’re edible, I have no clue what these were. ?

Know what this is? It’s called beard moss. It’s sensitive to air pollution and grows in places where the air is clean.

Some parts of the tracks have duckboards in order to make walking easier if the ground is wet.

Strömbäck-Kont is located next to the sea, as well as some lakes, I’m not sure which one this is. ?

There's a beach in Strömbäck-Kont, so if you go during the summer bring your bathing suit!
