    MBA programme ↗️

The MBA programme is directed at professionally active engineers who have a need to develop their knowledge within the management area, in order to be able to take on new professional challenges, particularly within project management and line management. The programme is conducted online, meaning that you can take part from wherever you are. We also offer it in two versions, full time and part time. The full time version runs over one academic year, and the part time version over two academic years. In both cases, the programme requires the equivalent of 40 effective weeks of study. This means a high degree of flexibility, since students can design their own learning situation in terms of both time and space. Within each version of the programme, there are specific schedules and deadlines for the different modules. We have had students from all over the world in the MBA programme. By working together with different assignments and projects, students do not only get an understanding of intercultural aspects of management, but also develop an international network of colleagues and friends, which they can benefit from long after they have finished their studies. The programme offers courses in essential management areas such as marketing, finance, organization, leadership and strategy. One credit point corresponds to one point in the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).

Master Programme in Fashion and Textile Design, Specialisation in Fashion Design ↗️

The Master's Programme in Textile and Fashion Design aims to further develop and deepen your artistic, technical, theoretical and reflective skills and abilities as textile/fashion designers. The programme offers in-depth practice-based studies in work developed by the students in a progressing system that starts with the application project and ends with degree work.Critical reflection is embedded in courses that relate historical art and design analysis and theory to a diverse range of practises; from projects that focus on your individual abilities to collaborative artistic projects in cooperation with organisations, institutes and companies. Thus, the programme enhances individual artistic and technical skills, ultimately aiming at training professional designers with high artistic proficiency that are excellent practitioners of design, or able to go into practice-based design research, or both.Depending on your BA degree in design, you choose area of specialisation: textile design or fashion design, with sub-divisionary applications. Specific challenges and discourses are intrinsically linked to each area of specialisation, but also open up for work where these intersect. The programme aims at nurturing your ability to identify, strategically handle, and propose solutions to a range of differing problems. Critical reflection is an important tool in this, developed through discussions and by presenting problems and solutions to both peers and to representatives of the design community. From having acquired familiarity of the design field at large, you are trained to evaluate, contextualize and criticise your own work as well as the works of others. As the fundament for artistic expression, the programme puts strong emphasis on further developing your understanding and working knowledge of techniques and design materials specific to textile and fashion design. To further reflection, issues of sustainability are an important part of this. Works developed within the programme range from critical artistic work that suggests alternative designs to prototypes introducing new advanced techniques and materials.A general goal for the programme is providing a holistic and critical view of the profession in relation to both specific challenges and a global industry. The programme aims to prepare you for a practise in constant change by providing tools that allow you to become an actuator of beneficial and sustainable change. A holistic and artistic starting point thus becomes a question of uniting aesthetics, ethics, and economy in an applicable form that can function as a basis for critical reflection on products and production. The master¡¦s programme is directed towards deepening with regards to design development and artistic reflection. This is grounded in the shifting of your focus from the individual design project to a design programme that is exemplified and deepened in various projects, i.e. a thematic, overriding programme declaration that supports focusing on design decisions central in how general design intentions can be manifested in individual design projects. A design programme can, very broadly, point out an ideological direction or, more concretely, introduce new possibilities in concepts, materials and/or techniques. How to apply

Master Programme in Resource Recovery ↗️

This unique master programme in Resource Recovery, which is given by the Swedish Centre for Resource Recovery, develops your ability to analyze and solve problems related to disposing, processing and recycling residuals into useful products.Such a useful and salable product can be an item to the automotive industry made from biological material which can easily be recycled. It could be biogas or ethanol to replace oil or electricity, heating and cooling produced sustainably by thermal treatment of waste. Why not produce fish feed which, in addition to solving a waste problem, reduces the depletion of the oceans? Regardless of whether you will be working as a researcher or work in business and management, you will be a global community builder with knowledge and skills to take on challenges.ContentThe first semester courses are designed to increase your intertechnical expertise in resource recovery and give you an overview of the possibilities and of the problems in this area. Apart from purely technical issues, social aspects will also be considered. This is important since the introduction of technical solutions must have an acceptance in society in order to function. In semester two, you will choose to specialize in any of the areas of energy, polymer engineering or industrial biotechnology. The amount of laboratory work will increase during this semester, and larger projects are introduced where more complex issues are handled. Computational modelling is also included as an important element. The specialization in Energy deepens your expertise in thermal energy recovery, i.e. to produce electricity, heat or chill or vehicle fuel by various thermal processes. The specialization in Polymer Technology gives you knowledge of materials development and methods to facilitate sustainable recycling of polymeric materials.Industrial biotechnology focuses on development of bioenergy and materials, i.e. processing waste products into fuels using biological methods or new materials and products. In year two a thesis project covering a full academic year will be performed. This gives you the possibility to immerse yourself into a subject area of your interest. This project will be carried out individually. You will do your project in industry, at a foreign university or in one of our research groups. The thesis is an important part of your development and will increase your ability to take on future skilled work.CareerIn addition to agricultural, forestry and industrial waste, there is currently more than 2 billion tons of domestic waste generated per year in the world. The waste causes significant environmental problems, but is also a resource that can be reused or recycled. This ensures that resource recovery, which already employs large numbers of people, will continue to be a thriving industry. Potential employers are energy companies, bioprocess industries, consulting firms, research institutes, recycling companies, equipment manufacturers, government and other industries where you e.g. can work with product or process development, or work as the environmental manager at companies. You also can choose to go on to graduate studies in the area, in Sweden or other countries, an option which is chosen by many of our students. What are you studying?By opting for this Masters course you will learn about many different topics, such as biotechnology and energy technology and materials. The courses address both international and national (Swedish) aspects. Since the training is linked to the successful research conducted at the Swedish Centre for Resource Recovery, you will get in close contact with our researchers and internationally leading research. Our network of companies, research institutes and municipalities also ensures that you get an education with a content that makes you attractive to potential employers. In the first year you get an overview of how resources are managed internationally and nationally (in Sweden), trends and legislation. Characterization of waste is important to select the right recycling method. You study the combustion and gasification of waste into electricity, heat and fuels as well as biological methods and techniques for the production of biofuels, such as biogas and bioethanol, from waste and other resources. You will also learn life cycle assessment, which is a tool that can be used to assess which resource recovery methods have the least impact on the environment.During the second year you will have the opportunity to further extend your knowledge in your area of choice by participating in a research project for a full study year. The goal is for you to produce a draft of a research report or scientific article.During the studies great emphasis will be on oral and written presentations, and you will improve your ability to obtain and evaluate information and research results in the field.
