Study in Sweden Winter Campus Tour 2017

Your chance to see what life is really like as an international student in northern Sweden.

campus_tour_north_2017-mapWe’re heading north! From 12-18 February, digital ambassadors Ivanna and Marina will be taking you on a tour of northern Sweden, visiting new campuses every day and sharing it all with you on social media.

Ivanna and Marina will be sharing a constant flow of updates on Instagram and Snapchat, and we’ll be streaming live on Facebook once every day. Follow us on Facebook for updated times and topics.

Kiruna and Jukkasjärvi: Our tour kicks off with a bang at the Icehotel in the Arctic Circle, followed by a trip to a Sami village, where we’ll learn about Sami culture and meet reindeer. In the evening, we’ll hop onto a dogsled to search for the northern lights.

It’s back to the books on our second day in Kiruna, as we visit the Space Campus to learn about the cutting-edge space research carried out there. Then we’re invited to meet with some students who will share work they’re doing with NASA.

Luleå: We’ll visit Church Town, a UNESCO world heritage site, where you can find a perfectly preserved village from the 15th century. Then it’s time to visit Luleå University of Technology, the northernmost university of technology in Scandinavia. We’ll wrap up the day with some fun activities in the snow in central Luleå.

Umeå: Time for a visit to Umeå where we’ll explore the campus of Umeå University, home of the most satisfied international students in Sweden. We’ll wrap up our visit in Umeå with a visit to the design campus, home to some mind-blowing architecture as well as the world’s top ranked design school.

Östersund: We’ll visit Mid Sweden University, followed by a trip to Vinterparken, a winter wonderland in central Östersund where we’ll teach you all you need to know about saunas Swedish-style.

Dalarna (Borlänge and Falun): On Friday we’ll visit the campus of Dalarna University, followed by some cultural and outdoor activities that are even a surprise for Marina and Ivanna.

Our tour wraps up with a day filled of winter outdoor activities where our brave students get to try downhill skiing and Nordic skating for the first time. In the morning we’ll check out some amazing views and downhill skiing at Romme Alpin. We’ll wrap up our epic campus tour of the north by ice skating on the frozen lake of Runn.

Have questions, suggestions, requests or demands for what you want to see on the tour? Let us know on FacebookInstagram and Snapchat. We can’t wait to see you – and take you – there!
