FAQ for scholarship applicants

If you applied for a Swedish Institute scholarship, we know you’re filled to the brim with questions about what happens next. Here are answers to the top four.

What happens next with my Swedish Institute scholarship application?

All eligible and complete applications are assessed by a selection committee, taking into consideration the relevance and quality of each motivation letter and CV. In early April, the list of successful candidates will be published. Due to the large number of applications we receive, only those who are offered a scholarship will be notified. Each successful candidate will receive an official scholarship offer by email.

What is the timeline going forward?

Key dates are as follows:

26 March 2015: Notification of selection results published on Universityadmissions.se

10-11 April 2015: List of successful candidates for Swedish Institute scholarships is published on Studyinsweden.se

13 April 2015: Deadline for accepting your place on a degree programme through Universityadmissions.se

13-17 April 2015: Official scholarship offers sent to successful candidates by email

30 April 2015: Deadline for accepting Swedish Institute scholarships

I didn’t apply for a programme by the 15 January deadline – will my application still be considered?

Only students who have been offered a place in a master’s programme after the first selection round on 26 March 2015 will be considered for a scholarship. Students who have been listed as reserves will not be considered. Unfortunately, no scholarships are available for late admissions.

Will there be a reserve list?

Applicants who fulfil the formal requirements for a scholarship but have a merit rating lower than the successful candidates can be placed on a waiting list for a reserve place.

Scholarship offers which are rejected by successful candidates may then be offered to applicants on the reserve list in order of ranking. Kindly note that being placed on a reserve list does not guarantee that you will be offered a scholarship.

We will publish the reserve list when we announce the successful scholarship recipients. Kindly note that if your name is not on the list you have not been offered a reserve place.

I have another question!
