Become a digital ambassador

Apply by 3 September to join our digital ambassador programme this year!

Are you starting your studies in Sweden this autumn? If so, you can now apply to become one of our digital ambassadors! Digital ambassadors share their experiences of studying in Sweden in our digital channels, to show our followers what life here is like.

Your responsibilities

As a digital ambassador, you’ll join one of the below three teams. This lets you focus on the channel you are most passionate about.

  • The blog & Instagram team: You’ll be writing several blog posts a month for the Study in Sweden blog. You’ll also share the responsibility of running our Instagram account: posting photos, uploading stories and taking part in Live broadcasts.
  • The YouTube team: You’ll be creating short, instructional videos about living and studying in Sweden for our YouTube You should be comfortable with all stages of the video-creation process – from brainstorming to filming to editing. You may also periodically write posts for our blog.
  • The China team: As part of our Mandarin-language team, you’ll create content for our WeChatWeibo and Bilibili  You’ll also write for the Chinese blog on our official Chinese website.

All digital ambassadors also respond to user comments and answer e-mail questions from prospective students.

You’ll be expected to spend approximately 20 hours/month on your digital ambassador tasks.

Throughout the year, we regularly meet up as a group to share experiences, learn new skills, swap ideas and have a good time!

We offer limited financial compensation for your work – and fika is included 😉

Your profile

We’re looking for fun, creative, excited digital ambassadors:

  • You are a first-year student (bachelor or master). This is important: we will only consider new (autumn 2019), full-time, degree-seeking students.
  • You can have any nationality – international or Swedish.
  • You love telling stories and communicating with people from different backgrounds, whether through text, photography or video. The important part is you’re ability to be creative and produce unique, engaging content.
  • You are comfortable writing in English. Perfect language skills aren’t essential, so you don’t need to be a native speaker. We do need you to be able to tell your story confidently, in your own voice.
  • It’s a plus if you’re comfortable in front of the camera, as we encourage you to participate in Facebook / Instagram / Bilibili Live broadcasts from time to time.
  • You can commit to spending a minimum of 20 hours a month during the academic year on being a digital ambassador.
  • You can commit to attending four meet-ups during the year, in different cities in Sweden. (All costs of these meet-ups are covered by us.)
