The Visby Programme provides funding for academic mobility and provides PhD students and postdoctoral researchers from the Baltic Sea region to be able to carry out research projects at Swedish universities. The programme aims to build an integrated, knowledge-based and research-intense region centered on the Baltic Sea and including the EU Eastern Partnership countries and Russia. All academic disciplines are eligible, however projects addressing topics highlighted in strategies (i.e. EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea region, or the EU Eastern Partnership) in the Baltic Sea region will be emphasized.
Candidates from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine can apply.
